ADDY AWARD WINNERS ENJOY SPOTLIGHT AT ANNUAL GALA
PALM SPRINGS, CA – March 24, 2009: The Desert's advertising community awarded its highest
honors, the ADDY Awards, at the American Advertising Federation (AAF) Palm Springs ⋅ Desert
Cities' annual gala held on Saturday, March 21, 2009, at the Indian Wells Resort Hotel. This
year's event, “I Love ADDY,” was attended by approximately 100 Coachella Valley advertising
professionals and agencies.
"We're ecstatic at the results of this year's competition and awards ceremony,” said Tim
O'Bayley, Co-chairman of the ADDY event committee. “The event at the Indian Wells Resort
Hotel, which has historical ties to Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, led us to the theme: “I Love
ADDY." We had a professional Lucy impersonator as hostess/Master of Ceremonies, and
everyone enjoyed the evening tremendously.” Co-chair Ethan Kaminsky said of the event “The
ADDYS highlight the diversity of achievement in the community. The advertising community in
the Desert is alive and well, and producing superior work."
More than 200 entries were judged based on creativity, originality, and creative strategy by a
team of three top advertising and creative professionals from outside of the Coachella Valley. In
all, 29 Gold ADDY Awards, 24 Silver ADDY Awards and 18 Bronze ADDY Awards were handed
out during the evening?s festivities. ADDY winners from the local competition will go on to
compete regionally and nationally.
Scott Burch Design took top honors for Overall Best of Show and Best of Print, and also earned
4 other ADDYs. Other big winners included Caliente Ink with 17 ADDYs, Point7West with 11
ADDYs, Kiner Communications won 8, Kaminsky Productions won 5, and Furino Greene
Creative won 5 ADDYs.
